Information Systems Specialist

About the role

The Information Systems Specialist will be based in Nairobi and will travel frequently to MSF projects across Kenya. Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, the role ensures that all IT, radio and telecom equipment and services operate efficiently and securely, in line with MSF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and follow‑up on all IT, radio and telecom hardware, tools and services used in the mission.
• Adapt and enforce IT, radio and telecom policies to meet the specific needs of each project.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget for the IT, radio and telecom families and support local procurement processes.
• Prepare technical content for national tenders and participate in vendor selection.
• Supervise and improve data‑security protocols, including firewalls, backups, user‑access rights and equipment/software protection.
• Provide onsite technical support and training to users and logistics staff, especially when ICT supervisors are absent.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing IT, radio and telecom equipment in field settings.
• Ability to work autonomously, travel regularly and adapt solutions to challenging environments.
• Strong understanding of MSF standards, policies and humanitarian logistics.
