Intake Coordinator – Support Pregnant Women in Crisis

About the role

The Intake Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for women reaching out to Good Counsel’s 24‑hour hotline during moments of crisis. This role provides compassionate listening, practical assistance, and guidance toward safe housing and supportive services for pregnant mothers, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals facing addiction or mental‑health challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Answer the 24‑hour hotline, offering empathetic support and clear information about Good Counsel’s resources.
• Conduct intake assessments to determine immediate needs and appropriate referrals.
• Travel between Good Counsel homes in Staten Island, Spring Valley, Riverside, and the Bronx to meet clients where they are.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, referral partners, and local agencies.
• Represent Good Counsel at outreach events, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Calm, compassionate presence capable of handling crisis situations.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to travel using a company vehicle.
• Comfort with public speaking, outreach, and networking.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal communication and active‑listening abilities.
• Ability to document intake information accurately.
