About the role
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct an integrated baseline assessment and to develop a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) plan for the REPLAN Project in Kenya. This assignment supports IUCN’s climate‑change and environmental objectives by establishing a robust framework for tracking project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive baseline assessment of the REPLAN Project’s current status, including environmental, social and institutional dimensions.
- Design and draft a detailed MEAL plan that aligns with IUCN’s standards and the project’s strategic goals.
- Identify appropriate indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.
- Provide guidance on accountability structures and learning processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Prepare a final report summarising findings, recommendations and the complete MEAL framework.
Required profile
- Proven experience in baseline assessments and MEAL plan development for environmental or climate‑change projects.
- Strong understanding of IUCN’s policies and international best practices in monitoring and evaluation.
- Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality outputs within tight timelines.
