Internal Auditor – Grade Twelve

About the role

The University seeks a qualified Internal Auditor at Grade Twelve to strengthen its internal control environment. The role involves planning, executing, and reporting on audits that ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and risk management frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review internal audit policies, strategies, procedures and plans in line with auditing standards.
• Conduct special audits, investigations and system audits across university functions.
• Coordinate the development of internal audit systems to improve operational efficiency and records‑keeping.
• Review governance mechanisms, control adequacy and compliance with internal policies, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assess the effectiveness of the University’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
• Coordinate post‑audit reviews and follow‑up on implementation of audit recommendations.
• Investigate indications of fraudulent practices within the University.
• Monitor implementation of legal requirements, government directives and corporate strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and assist in the preparation of audit operational plans and programmes.
