Internal Auditor

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Internal Auditor to join our Nairobi team. As a certified professional, you will safeguard the integrity of our financial operations, ensure compliance with Kenyan regulations, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits of financial controls, risk management systems and operational processes.
• Assess compliance with Kenyan laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare and present accurate audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Identify fraudulent activities or financial irregularities and investigate them.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop risk‑management strategies.
• Plan and execute audit engagements, including data analysis and testing.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on remedial actions.
• Stay current with industry regulations and best practices in internal auditing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification (CIA, CA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of internal audit or related financial experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit management software.
• Data analysis and visualization tools.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems.
