Inventory & Compliance Supervisor

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal port, logistics, maritime and rail operator now part of the MSC Group, is hiring an Inventory & Compliance Supervisor in Mombasa, Kenya. This is a full-time temporary position overseeing inventory management, warehouse controls and compliance across the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily count processes, oversee stock takes in line with SOPs, run spot checks in the WMS and maintain variance records and transfer documentation.
• Improve inventory accuracy and efficiency, enforce inventory control policies and stock labelling standards.
• Design warehouse reporting templates aligned with performance KPIs, coordinate Daily Operational Review meetings and support the Warehouse Manager with OPEX structures, lean initiatives and waste elimination.
• Train and coach warehouse teams on OPEX tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma.
• Audit process flows and system records (SPEED/WMS/SAP) against physical counts, track variances and interpret them to improve forecasting.
• Report incidents and near misses, investigate using the 5 WHY method, make at least 30 safety observations per month and audit warehouse operations for compliance with SOPs and regulations.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and train subordinate staff on inventory, compliance and OPEX practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
• At least 3 years of experience in external/internal audit, supply chain/operations/inventory management, or risk/governance/compliance.
• Professional certification in CPA, ACCA, APICS or CIPS is an added advantage.
• Tertiary education in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP and SPEED is an added advantage.
