Investment & Business Development Adviser – e-Mobility (Interim)

About the role

The Shell Foundation is seeking an Interim Investment & Business Development Adviser to lead e‑mobility initiatives within its Transporters portfolio. Based in Kenya, you will identify, evaluate and manage investment and partnership opportunities that increase transporters’ incomes across Africa and, selectively, South Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and assess new investment opportunities in e‑mobility.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, financial modelling and risk analysis.
• Structure, negotiate and close deals, securing investment approvals.
• Manage ongoing partnerships and oversee exit strategies.
• Contribute to portfolio strategy, annual business planning and stakeholder coordination.
• Travel regionally to engage with partners in Africa, Asia and the UK.

Required profile

• Significant professional experience, including extensive work in Africa and exposure to South Asia.
• Background in investment, corporate development, strategy consulting, entrepreneurial growth or complex commercial initiatives.
• Strong commercial and financial analytical capabilities.
• Proven ability to design, negotiate and deliver multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Interest or experience in sustainable development or impact investing.
• Relevant networks in Africa, South Asia, energy or e‑mobility are a plus.
