Investment Manager – Impact Investing

About the role

Airbel Ventures, the impact‑investing arm of the International Rescue Committee, is seeking an Investment Manager to lead sourcing, evaluation and management of early‑stage companies that generate strong humanitarian impact and financial returns. The role sits within Airbel Ventures and works closely with IRC country programmes and technical teams to accelerate portfolio growth in humanitarian markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source seed‑stage businesses across Africa and MENA that align with Airbel’s focus on climate, health, education and economic opportunity.
• Conduct rigorous due diligence, financial analysis and impact assessment to inform investment decisions.
• Manage post‑investment activities, including portfolio monitoring, reporting and strategic support for portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with IRC country programmes and technical teams to create market traction for portfolio ventures.
• Leverage AI tools strategically to improve research efficiency and analytical depth.

Required profile

• Proven experience in early‑stage or impact investment environments.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian contexts and the ability to work across multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate both financial returns and social impact.
• Comfort with using AI‑enabled tools for research and analysis.
