Junior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Mombasa. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in daily accounting operations and exposure to financial reporting within the banking and insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting and financial records.
• Handle basic bookkeeping and daily transaction processing.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, and payment records.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Reconcile cash, bank statements, and other financial records.
• Operate accounting software and ensure proper documentation.
• Support the preparation of financial reports.
• Assist with basic auditing and tax‑related activities.
• Respond professionally to customer and supplier account queries.
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial records.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Basic understanding of taxation and auditing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional, honest, committed, and reliable.
• Willingness to relocate to Lamu if required.
