Junior Coordinator

About the role

The Junior Coordinator provides day‑to‑day operational and administrative support to the KCC programme team delivering freight electrification and climate logistics initiatives across East Africa. This core execution role ensures structure, coordination, and continuity across multiple workstreams, allowing senior staff to focus on technical and strategic tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain workplans, task trackers, and milestone schedules for active projects.
• Track action items from meetings and partner engagements, proactively chasing outstanding items.
• Flag risks, delays, and scheduling conflicts early and propose practical adjustments.
• Compile inputs for progress updates, status reports, and board‑level summaries.
• Manage shared inboxes, partner contact databases, and draft routine external communications.
• Maintain organised filing systems for programme documents, contracts, and correspondence.
• Produce and format documents, presentations, and one‑pagers to KCC standards; take accurate meeting minutes and circulate notes within 24 hours.
• Support vendor sourcing, quote collection, purchase‑order preparation, and expense reporting in line with procurement policy.
• Coordinate workshops, site visits, learning meetups, and other logistics events.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional with high accountability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong individual ownership and ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
• Comfortable with frequent external engagement and occasional travel within East Africa.
• Willingness to work onsite and collaborate closely with a lean team.
