Junior Microsoft Power Platform Software Developer

About the role

The Junior Microsoft Power Platform Software Developer will join Credwave’s delivery team to design, build and deploy custom low‑code business applications for clients in Kenya’s financial, private and public sectors. The role bridges Power Platform development with traditional software engineering, offering exposure to both Microsoft tools and Java/React development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure model‑driven and canvas Power Apps that match client workflows.
• Create Power Automate cloud flows for approvals, notifications, integrations and scheduled jobs.
• Set up SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists and permissions as part of solution architecture.
• Develop and maintain Dataverse tables, relationships, forms and views.
• Build Power BI dashboards and reports to visualise operational data.
• Perform unit testing, support UAT and resolve bugs in delivered modules.
• Assist with Java‑based API integrations and backend services where low‑code is insufficient.
• Contribute React components for web or mobile front‑ends in hybrid delivery projects.
• Participate in two‑week Agile sprints, attend demos, retrospectives and planning sessions.
• Document technical specifications, configuration decisions and test cases.
• Support client onboarding, training and provide user‑level technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on software development experience (including internships or academic projects).
• Proven experience building applications on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse).
• Working knowledge of Java for backend development and API integration.
• Exposure to React for web or mobile development (React Native a plus).
