Junior MRV Accounting Officer

About the role

The Junior MRV Accounting Officer will support the financial operations of the MRV team at BURN Manufacturing. The role involves processing payments, handling reconciliations, assisting with budgeting and payroll, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. It works closely with MRV coordinators, finance, HR, vendors and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process daily field allowances, electronic funds transfers and international payments for enumerators.
• Verify and submit Payment Request Forms, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Perform timely reconciliations of all payments and produce reconciliation reports for approval.
• Maintain accurate records of payment transactions and support proof of payment documentation.
• Assist with payroll preparation for MRV casuals and contractors and manage related HR documentation.
• Support project teams with ad‑hoc operational tasks and coordinate fund disbursements with Finance.
• Review monthly budgets for accuracy, consolidate them for management review and update weekly cash sheets.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, reporting and budget tracking.
• Experience with ERP systems, accounting software or other financial management tools.
