Junior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Junior Quantity Surveyor position at Helix is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. You will assist in preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities, support cost planning and monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of modular construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse cost data for ongoing projects.
• Support the preparation of cost reports and financial summaries.
• Assist with tender documentation and BOQ preparation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and designers to ensure budgets are adhered to.
• Contribute to cost‑control measures and value‑engineering activities.
• Help ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial and quality parameters.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• Experience with BOQ preparation and cost planning.
• Strong numerical, analytical and Excel skills with high attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of modular or prefabricated construction methods (advantageous).
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly in English.
