Blue Oak Consulting is seeking a Junior Research Analyst to support high‑stakes advisory projects. Working remotely, you will partner directly with firm principals to verify the financial assumptions that drive major corporate decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review historical P&L data to spot margin erosion and unexpected cost spikes.
• Test pricing assumptions in financial models across varied market scenarios.
• Gather market benchmarks and compare client performance to industry standards.
• Build and maintain spreadsheets that isolate specific commercial variables for deeper analysis.
• Extract key data points from dense annual reports and internal financial documents.
• Support the drafting of memos that translate complex data into clear, actionable findings.
• Verify that acquisition targets meet predefined economic criteria.
• Monitor execution phases to ensure realized results align with original projections.

Required profile

• A university degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical mindset with a genuine interest in business profitability.
• High degree of self‑discipline and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent written communication skills for translating data into concise memos.
