Knowledge Management & Communications Support Intern

About the role

The United Nations is recruiting a Knowledge Management and Communications Support Intern based in Nairobi, Westlands. This is part of the UN Internship Programme, open to students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme (second university degree or higher), in the final year of a first university degree (minimum Bachelor's level), or has graduated with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD.
• A field of study closely related to the internship is required; applicants need not have professional work experience.
• Preferred fields: Knowledge Management, Communications, Information Science, International Relations, Journalism, Data Analytics or related.
• Keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to its Charter ideals.
• Ability to interact respectfully with people of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
• Experience or familiarity with structured file systems, digital asset libraries, databases or web/media analytics tracking is desirable.
