Laundry Attendant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented Laundry Attendant to join the support team at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa. The role ensures that students’ uniforms, personal clothing and residential linens are cleaned, maintained and returned promptly, contributing to a hygienic living environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate washing, drying, pressing and folding equipment to process school uniforms and personal garments.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, storing supplies safely.
• Track laundered items accurately and deliver them to the appropriate students on schedule.
• Change bed linen, clean mosquito nets and ensure all residential furnishings are functional.
• Supervise external cleaners to keep student rooms and shared spaces hygienic and safe.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs in the laundry or residence areas promptly.
• Follow infection‑control and hygiene procedures in all laundry handling activities.
• Assist with returning excess bedding and cleaning materials to the linen store as required.

Required profile

• Reliable and hardworking with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a residential school setting.
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep accurate records.
