Lead Internal Auditor – Nakuru

About the role

The Lead Internal Auditor will provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control processes across MSVL Group’s manufacturing operations. The role demands a proactive professional with strong analytical abilities and experience in a fast‑moving FMCG environment. Immediate joining is required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute risk‑based internal audit plans for all business functions.
• Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls, governance processes and risk‑management frameworks.
• Conduct operational, financial, compliance and systems audits, focusing on procurement, production, warehouse, inventory, finance and sales.
• Assess inventory controls, material balancing, production planning and manufacturing efficiency.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with practical recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, statutory regulations and industry standards.
• Review ERP system controls and data integrity, preferably within SAP.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk and prevent fraud.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA (Kenya) qualification – mandatory.
• 3–5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in manufacturing or animal‑feed production.
• Kenyan nationality.
• Preference for candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Nakuru.
• CIA and/or CISA certifications and membership of ICPAK or IIA are advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Experience auditing procurement, production, warehouse, inventory, finance and sales functions.
• Proficiency in evaluating ERP controls, especially SAP.

What we offer

• Competitive salary KES 170,000 – 200,000 gross per month.
