About the role
ALX Africa is looking for a motivated intern to support learners throughout their program journey while ensuring the hub environment remains safe and well‑run. The role blends learner engagement with day‑to‑day hub operations, working closely with mentors, program managers and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide timely support and guidance to learners from enrollment through graduation, including onboarding and progress tracking.
- Facilitate communications and engagement campaigns across multiple channels and help organise webinars, workshops and community events.
- Maintain hub cleanliness, safety and operational standards through regular inspections and coordinate with support staff.
- Manage hub access, maintenance, repairs and liaise with service providers, keeping records of services and payments.
- Collect feedback from the community, report learner milestones and contribute ideas to improve processes.
Required profile
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.
- Analytical mindset, comfortable tracking progress data and interpreting insights.
- Proactive problem‑solver who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Attributes such as courage, humility, initiative, resilience and a sense of adventure.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Experience using Slack and Zoom for collaboration
- Data analysis skills for interpreting learner attendance and progress reports
- Familiarity with data‑visualisation tools such as Google Data Studio or Power BI
