Lecturer - History

About the role

Zetech University is recruiting a full-time Lecturer in History for its Ruiru campus. The role covers teaching and mentoring students, developing and reviewing course content, publishing research findings, supporting curriculum development and giving career guidance to students and staff. On-site work is required.

Key responsibilities

• Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department, designing, planning and delivering programmes of study, including new courses at various levels, with high-quality lectures and practicals.
• Review course content and materials regularly and update them when needed.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and research activities.
• Carry out research, write research grant proposals, seek and take part in consultancies, and present research papers at national or international conferences.
• Disseminate research outputs and provide mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.

Required profile

• PhD, Master's and Bachelor's degrees from a recognised university; the qualification line also mentions a degree in Education with specialisation in History.
• At least three years of post-qualification work experience.
• Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
• Commitment to high-quality teaching and a positive learning environment.
• Registration or registrability with the relevant professional body where applicable.
