Lecturer in Occupational Therapy

About the role

The NeuroConnect Institute of Autism, Neurodevelopment & Rehabilitation Sciences, based in Nairobi, Kenya, is looking for a full-time, on-site Lecturer in Occupational Therapy. The role covers Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma learners, with a focus on evidence-based practice in neurodevelopment, rehabilitation and inclusive care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and practical sessions
• Develop and update curriculum and teaching materials
• Supervise learner projects and clinical placements, and provide mentorship and academic advising
• Assess learners through assignments, examinations and practical evaluations
• Contribute to quality assurance, course review and program development
• Collaborate with other faculty and partner organizations, and take part in professional development and research aligned with the Institute's mission

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy or a closely related rehabilitation discipline
• Registration or licensure with the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association
• Experience or strong interest in autism, neurodivergence, inclusive education and community-based rehabilitation
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage academic responsibilities and contribute to institutional growth and partnerships
• Comfortable working in on-site learning environments in Nairobi County and open to integrating digital and distance learning tools

Required skills

• Professional expertise in occupational therapy, including neurodevelopmental practice, paediatric rehabilitation and functional independence across the lifespan
• Teaching, curriculum development and learner assessment in higher or professional education
• Integrating evidence-based practice, research and clinical experience into teaching and supervision
• Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with diverse learners and multidisciplinary teams
