Lecturer (Level 2) - Public Health Sciences

About the role

KMTC is recruiting a Level 2 Lecturer in Public Health Sciences in Nairobi (Westlands). The post involves teaching and assessing students, supporting curriculum implementation and continuing education, and conducting research in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and evaluate students
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans
• Assess students in clinical areas
• Guide and counsel students on academic matters
• Support the design of instruments to assess health training needs
• Develop guidelines for evaluating health teaching materials
• Evaluate training programmes for effectiveness and relevance
• Implement the competence-based curriculum
• Plan and organise continuing education programmes for health workers
• Conduct research in the area of specialisation and supervise student research projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Sciences or Public Health, or a KMTC Higher Diploma in Environmental Health (Occupational Health and Safety, Solid Waste Management, Food Science and Inspection or Epidemiology)
• Registration with the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC)
• Valid practicing licence
