Machine Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our sister company J&I Consult in Kenya. The role involves operating and monitoring food‑packaging machinery that processes roasted cereals, ensuring each package meets our high standards for taste, freshness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust packaging machinery for roasted cereals such as peanuts, beans and potato crisps.
• Monitor equipment during production, making real‑time adjustments to maintain smooth operation.
• Perform quality checks on packaging materials and finished products.
• Record production data, maintenance activities and any incidents.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet output targets while adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.

Required profile

• Craft certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a machine operator, preferably in a food‑packaging environment dealing with roasted cereals.

Required skills

• Food packaging machinery operation.
• Mechanical troubleshooting.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
