Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that machines stay in good working condition so that production runs continuously and reliably, and that spare parts are available to reduce breakdowns. The role covers daily supervision of the maintenance team, planning of maintenance work, and support of the Assistant Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Install new machines, troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment according to safety and planned maintenance.
• Supervise maintenance activities against company certification standards such as ISO 22000 and Rainforest Alliance.
• Train maintenance personnel on health and safety, safe work procedures and other relevant topics.
• Hold daily briefings, prepare weekly maintenance schedules, allocate work to mechanics and ensure PPM and CMM tasks are completed with weekly reports.
• Inspect facilities, monitor critical spares and inventory, and keep maintenance records.
• Ensure calibration certificates for gauges and measuring equipment are current and filed.
• Directly supervise floor activities, including maintenance and project work, and coordinate contractors.
• Order materials, raise BOQs and requisitions, and contribute to the maintenance budget.
• Manage overtime, discipline and attendance, and enforce health and safety policies through toolbox talks and PPE use.
• Support machine shop and sharpening shop operations, utilities such as water treatment and firefighting equipment, and assist in audits such as ISO, energy audits and boiler inspections.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• At least 10 years of post-training experience.
• Proven administrative and management experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, with deep experience in automation, controls and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and civil drawings.
• Project management experience.
• Data management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
