Maintenance & Utilities Manager

About the role

The Maintenance & Utilities Manager will lead the upkeep of all plant equipment and utility systems, ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient production. This senior‑level position reports to senior management and oversees a large technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for all machinery.
• Coordinate breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR.
• Manage utilities including boilers, steam, water treatment, compressed air, HVAC, refrigeration, and power generation/distribution.
• Monitor and optimise energy and water consumption across the site.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and food‑safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and lead root‑cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of maintenance experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record managing utilities and large technical teams.
• Familiarity with food‑safety standards such as HACCP and GMP is highly desirable.

Required skills

• CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) proficiency.
• Knowledge of PLC and automation systems.
• Expertise in HVAC, power generation, water treatment and compressed‑air systems.
• Strong technical understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
