Management Trainee – Partnerships & Engagement

About the role

The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi is offering a twelve‑month Management Trainee – Partnerships & Engagement as part of its Aspire Future Leaders Programme. The trainee will support the Global Engagement Office in managing the partnership portfolio and stakeholder engagement activities across East Africa, gaining real‑world experience in partnership development, coordination and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain partnership databases, trackers, action logs and records.
• Monitor ongoing partnership discussions, commitments and follow‑up actions.
• Support partnership reporting, data collection and portfolio reviews.
• Serve as the East Africa liaison for partnership‑related activities and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate the East Africa Community of Practice and related engagement initiatives.
• Facilitate communication between the Global Engagement Office, AKU entities, AKDN agencies and external partners.
• Assist in planning and coordinating partnership‑related initiatives, visits and activities.
• Research prospective partners and identify collaboration opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Journalism & Communication, Management & Organizational Development, Public/External Relations, Social Sciences or related fields.
• Kenyan citizenship.
• Some prior experience in partnership, stakeholder engagement or related areas is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication and coordination abilities.
