Marine Engineer – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

We are looking for a Marine Engineer to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves design, analysis, construction support, maintenance and repair of marine vessels and systems, ensuring compliance with standards and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research, testing and evaluations for vessel design and modification.
• Develop engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, design analyses and system diagnostic documentation.
• Present engineering concepts and design recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
• Utilise engineering design software to develop and review vessel and equipment designs.
• Oversee engineering activities throughout construction, modification and repair projects.
• Supervise structural, mechanical and electrical engineering efforts to ensure compliance.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and engineering milestones.
• Perform quality control inspections and acceptance testing on vessels, systems and equipment.
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance, root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex marine systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in marine engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino 3D or SOLIDWORKS.
