Materials Requirements Planning Officer

About the role

The Materials Requirements Planning Officer will manage the daily MRP process, ensuring material availability for production while controlling inventory levels. You will work closely with procurement, production planning, and supply chain teams to keep the manufacturing flow smooth and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Run the MRP process daily or per agreed cycles and analyse exception reports (shortages, overdue orders, surplus).
• Generate material requisitions and purchase requests for raw, packaging, and MRO items based on MRP outputs and safety‑stock policies.
• Monitor stock movements, update ERP balances after receipts, issues, adjustments, and returns.
• Liaise with Procurement to expedite critical supplies and confirm delivery schedules.
• Support Production Planner with real‑time material availability checks and rescheduling decisions.
• Maintain master data in the ERP system (BOMs, routings, lead times, pack sizes, etc.).
• Reconcile physical stock with system balances, prepare variance reports, and present weekly material risk updates.
• Assist in monthly procurement planning, month‑end inventory close, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 24 months) in MRP or supply‑chain operations.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret exception reports and inventory data.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems that support MRP functions.
• Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning processes.
• Inventory reconciliation and stock‑balance management.
• Understanding of Bills of Materials, lead times, and safety‑stock calculations.
