Maths Expert – Remote, $346 per task

About the role

We are seeking a Maths Expert to design and solve challenging mathematical problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This short‑term remote contract involves creating detailed, step‑by‑step solutions and collaborating with AI researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging maths problems for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers on evaluation benchmarks and reasoning tasks.
• Help define new evaluation benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze and solve complex mathematical problems using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical skills with creative, lateral thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.

What we offer

• Compensation of $346 per approved task.
• Fully remote work with an 8‑hour daily commitment and 4‑hour overlap with PST.
• 11‑week contract with immediate start.
