MEAL Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The MEAL Officer will strengthen the quality, effectiveness and accountability of Help Age International’s programmes and advocacy initiatives. Working on‑site in Nairobi, the role provides technical leadership for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across global impact vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain robust M&E frameworks, indicators, baselines and results frameworks for programmes and advocacy campaigns.
• Coordinate organisation‑wide performance tracking, ensuring timely collection, analysis and reporting of data and KPI measurement.
• Provide advanced technical MEAL advice throughout proposal development, implementation, monitoring, reporting and learning.
• Lead rapid needs assessments, establishing methodologies, tools and quality‑assurance processes.
• Support accountability mechanisms, fostering inclusive feedback systems for older people and marginalised groups.
• Facilitate organisational learning by coordinating reviews, documenting best practices and organising knowledge‑sharing events.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning within international development, humanitarian or advocacy‑focused organisations.
• Proven ability to develop M&E frameworks, theories of change, indicators and MEL plans.
• Experience coordinating donor or organisational reporting and translating complex performance data into clear narratives.
