Mechanical Engineer – Design & Systems Integration

About the role

The Engineering Department seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, improve, and test structural, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems across product development, industrial engineering, and customer support. The role demands adaptability and creative problem‑solving for diverse and unexpected challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, improve, and test structural, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems, integrating them into cohesive solutions.
• Support business processes from sales through production, installation, and technical support.
• Consult sales representatives and customers to identify optimal solutions.
• Apply design techniques for sheet metal, CNC routing, frames, and 3D‑printed parts.
• Develop and document manufacturing, quality control, and inventory processes.
• Ensure designs comply with standards such as NIST 44, NFPA 70, and UL 508.
• Provide technical support to production, troubleshoot issues, and create drawing packages for customers.
• Research emerging technologies, prototype, and analyze test data to enhance product performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrable mechanical design projects for manufacturing.
• Experience creating product documentation (technical drawings, assembly instructions, electrical schematics, user manuals).
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional engineering teams.

Required skills

• 3D CAD proficiency (Onshape preferred; SolidWorks, CATIA acceptable).
• Design experience with formed sheet metal, CNC routing, or weldments.
• ECAD proficiency (Siemens Capital X Panel Designer desired).
• Familiarity with industry standards (NIST 44, NFPA 70, UL 508).
• Knowledge of SAP ERP.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt.
• Scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or VBA.
