Medical Officer

About the role

The Medical Officer will deliver outpatient clinical care and manage urgent cases within Mini Group’s health facilities in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, treatment planning, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct professional outpatient consultations, document histories, perform examinations, and diagnose common conditions.
• Initiate evidence‑based treatment plans and refer complex cases to senior consultants.
• Perform minor clinical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Provide patient counselling on diagnoses, treatment options, costs, and follow‑up care.
• Assess and stabilise walk‑in urgent cases, triage, and arrange transfers when needed.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory and radiology investigations.
• Coordinate care with consultants, nurses, pharmacy, and laboratory teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and comply with SOPs, infection control, and safety standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, CME forums, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent) recognised by the Kenyan government.
• Valid registration and active practising licence with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• 1–3 years post‑internship clinical experience, preferably in busy outpatient or emergency settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms.
• Experience using computerized clinical ordering systems.
