About the role
The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi Outreach Division is expanding its network of medical centres across East Africa. We are seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join the Outreach Clinic in Meru, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Review and examine patients by taking case histories, conducting physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic laboratory and radiology studies.
- Monitor the progress of acute and chronically ill patients on a regular basis.
- Initiate discussions with patients and caregivers to improve diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
- Provide emergency surgical and medical interventions when life‑saving care is required.
Required profile
- Qualified medical officer with appropriate professional registration.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence‑based clinical practice and hospital policies.
Required skills
- Taking comprehensive case histories.
- Conducting thorough physical examinations.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic laboratory tests.
- Ordering and interpreting radiology studies.
