Mental Health, Staff Resilience & Trauma Support Consultant

About the role

Indepth Research Institute (IRES), a global provider of data-driven insights, training and capacity-building, is hiring a Mental Health, Staff Resilience & Trauma Support Consultant for Nairobi County, Kenya. This full-time, on-site role provides psychosocial support to staff and partners, including counseling, resilience workshops and trauma-informed interventions after critical incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions and facilitate resilience and stress management workshops
• Offer trauma-informed interventions in response to critical incidents
• Assess mental health needs, design and implement support programs, and advise leaders on integrating well-being practices into workplace culture
• Document casework, maintain confidentiality and ethical standards, and make referrals when needed
• Contribute to training materials and awareness campaigns on mental health, emotional safety and professional resilience

Required profile

• Master's degree or professional training in psychology, counseling, social work or a related mental health field; licensure or certification is an advantage
• Demonstrated experience in trauma counseling, crisis intervention or staff wellness programs, preferably in complex or high-stress environments
• Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, able to work inclusively with diverse teams and cultures
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity and continuous professional development
