MHPSS Workforce Development Consultant – Child Protection (Remote)

About the role

This 12‑month consultancy aims to strengthen UNICEF’s global mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) workforce and improve access to quality services for children, adolescents, caregivers and communities. The consultant will work remotely, providing technical assistance to country offices and partners to design, adapt, implement and scale competency‑based approaches to training, supervision, assessment and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to design, adapt and scale competency‑based training, supervision, assessment and quality‑assurance approaches for MHPSS services.
• Strengthen country‑level systems and provider capacity to deliver sustainable, safe and effective MHPSS services in both humanitarian and development settings.
• Develop and support monitoring, evaluation and measurement tools for MHPSS programmes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, or Child Protection in humanitarian action.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MHPSS within development and humanitarian contexts.
• Experience supporting UN agencies, NGOs, academic institutions and governments in EQUIP implementation, trainings, supervision and pre‑service training.
• Fluency in English, French and Spanish.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of the EQUIP platform, resources and tools.
• Strong knowledge of competency frameworks and competency‑based assessment tools, trainings and supervision in MHPSS for child protection.
• Experience developing MHPSS monitoring, evaluation and measurement tools.
