Mud Engineer

About the role

Join Baker Hughes’ regional Drilling Services Team as a Mud Engineer, where you will conduct tests to adjust fluid properties, collaborate with drilling crews, manage fluid‑related costs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite services by measuring, testing and supervising fluid mixing and pumping, delivering technical analysis and recommendations to control fluid properties.
• Make sales calls on the field or accompany a Sales Representative to perform similar functions.
• Train and direct the work of entry‑level engineers.
• Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, legal and compliance requirements and core values.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• At least 5 years’ experience with in‑depth knowledge of drilling fluids products and services.
• Ability to identify the proper product and service for simple to complex applications.
• Capability to work in a global matrix organization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings and trainings.
