Nutrition Technical Advisor

About the role

IsraAID is seeking a Nutrition Technical Advisor to provide technical leadership, capacity strengthening, and strategic guidance for nutrition programming across its Africa Region. The role supports community‑based, context‑specific nutrition interventions and works closely with country health teams, the Regional Desk, and the Technical Unit Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of nutrition interventions, especially community‑based management of malnutrition (CMAM/IMAM/MIYCN, blanket feeding, deworming, vitamin supplementation).
• Provide technical guidance and support to multiple country offices, ensuring evidence‑based, multisectoral integrated approaches.
• Collaborate with partners such as Edesia to scale up nutrition initiatives.
• Contribute to IsraAID’s Global Health Strategy and Resilience Framework, enhancing the quality, coverage, and impact of acute malnutrition services.
• Coordinate with the Program Manager, SCM Coordinator, and MEAL Coordinator to align technical guidance with operational systems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in nutrition programming, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix organization and support decentralized, community‑based approaches.
• Strong knowledge of CMAM, IMAM, MIYCN, blanket feeding, deworming, and vitamin supplementation programs.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to engage with regional teams and partners.
