Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager is a senior position that serves as the fulcrum of business operations within Jawabu Biashara. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the role focuses on driving growth, scaling the budget, ensuring quality portfolios, and boosting staff productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor business development and field teams to achieve institutional goals.
• Oversee sales strategies, market presence, and lead generation initiatives.
• Manage internal (staff) and external customers, as well as other business stakeholders.
• Mitigate business risks, ensure policy compliance, and protect company interests.
• Spend approximately 75% of time in the field, focusing on growth, quality, and execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of senior‑level management experience in the microfinance sector, including field office oversight.
• Proven leadership abilities with a performance‑based approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and business insight.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced use of Google Sheets for records and tracker management.
• Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
