Operations Manager - Microlending Institution

About the role

Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of a leading micro‑lending institution, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily activities, ensure efficient loan processing and deliver exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end loan lifecycle, including processing, disbursement, documentation and custody of loan files.
• Develop and continuously improve operational policies, procedures and workflow efficiencies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, track Portfolio at Risk (PAR), arrears and recoveries, and work with credit and collections teams to minimise delinquency.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, mitigate operational risks and support internal/external audits.
• Analyse operational and financial data, prepare management reports and track key performance indicators.
• Drive a high‑quality customer experience by resolving escalated issues and enhancing onboarding and servicing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, Operations Management or related field.
• 5–8 years of operations experience in micro‑finance or a similar financial services environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams, optimise processes and maintain strong internal controls.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of loan processing, risk management and regulatory compliance.
