Operator - Wet Section (Mariakani)

About the role

The Wet Section Operator is responsible for running the pickling line at our Mariakani plant. The role ensures stable acid‑handling processes, meets production targets and upholds product quality while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Wet Section equipment, controlling acid circulation, rinsing and pickling parameters.
• Maintain accurate production, process and quality records.
• Support planned and breakdown maintenance, performing autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all pickled products meet customer specifications and trigger corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Comply with HSEQ procedures, permit‑to‑work, LOTOTO and PPE requirements.
• Participate in TPM, Kaizen and continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
• Government Grade Test II in General Fitting, Mechanical Engineering Craft Certificate or similar technical qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of machine‑operating experience in manufacturing, with at least 1 year on a pickling line or similar chemical/steel processing environment.
• Training in 6S, TPM and autonomous maintenance is preferred.
