Paid Maintenance Intern - Agri-Tech

About the role

Synnefa Green, a Nairobi-based agri-tech company that supplies smart solar dryers, smart greenhouses, IoT sensors and a FarmCloud platform to farmers, is hiring a paid Maintenance Intern for a 6-month contract. The intern joins the Technology Development and Innovation team and works with Field Engineers, splitting time between the office and the field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with field installations, routine maintenance, inspections and commissioning under supervision
• Support site surveys and complete pre-site forms, checklists and installation readiness records
• Maintain maintenance logs, fault registers, SLA trackers, installation records and service reports
• Collect and organise field readings and operational data, using Excel to update trackers and prepare basic summaries
• Gather fault information, carry out approved basic checks and escalate issues promptly

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline; entry level (0-1 year)
• Valid driving licence
• Hands-on project experience is an advantage
• Willingness to travel to field sites and work outdoors
• Interest in solar or renewable energy, agri-tech, IoT, electrical installations or equipment maintenance is an advantage
