Paraprofessional – Classroom Support

About the role

The Paraprofessional provides essential support to teachers and staff within the classroom, helping to implement educational programs and assist students in achieving their academic goals. Working closely with students, the role reinforces lessons, supports classroom activities, and contributes to a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering instructional materials.
• Support students individually or in small groups with academic tasks and assignments.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and other events.
• Help maintain a positive and organized classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom management and behavioral support.
• Provide support to students with special needs as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with grading, record‑keeping, and other administrative tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification preferred.
• Paraprofessional certification required.
• Acceptable background check as per O.C.G.A. 20‑2‑211.1.
• Experience working with children or in a classroom setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Patience and a positive attitude toward working with children.
