Part-Time ICT Manager

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is looking for an experienced part-time ICT Manager based in Nairobi, reporting to the GCEO within the Information and Communications Technology department. The role oversees and manages ICT infrastructure across multiple branches, designs and maintains robust IT systems, ensures data security and leads a team of IT professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's ICT strategy, plan and manage ICT budgets and recommend new technologies
• Lead software development projects from requirements to deployment, overseeing custom applications, integration and maintenance
• Manage and optimise IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases) across branches, including cloud solutions and data backup
• Lead and mentor the ICT team, conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
• Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols, run regular security audits and risk assessments
• Coordinate ICT support for multiple branches, develop branch policies and manage remote support
• Liaise with external vendors, negotiate contracts and ensure SLA compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; master's degree is an advantage
• At least 7 years of ICT management experience, including 3+ years in software development roles
• Proven track record managing ICT systems across multiple locations
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
