Pastry Chef – Full-time

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts and baked goods while maintaining high quality and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, breads and desserts according to standard recipes.
• Develop new pastry items and seasonal menu offerings, adjusting recipes for quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensure proper storage, and assist with ordering supplies.
• Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness and food‑safety standards in the pastry section.
• Support daily kitchen operations by keeping the work area organized and equipment well‑maintained.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Pastry Arts, Baking or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a bakery, hotel or restaurant environment.
• Strong understanding of pastry techniques and baking fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of recipe development, costing and inventory management.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
