Patient Account Representative II – Corporate

About the role

The Patient Account Representative II (PAR II) works within the Business Office to manage patient accounts in accordance with department policies. Reporting to the Manager and Supervisor, the PAR II handles complex billing issues, supports Level I staff, and ensures timely, accurate revenue cycle activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile patient accounts following established procedures.
• Assist the Collection Supervisor in identifying and resolving account issues.
• Provide training and guidance to PAR Level I staff on complex cases.
• Interpret and apply state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and other third‑party payer requirements.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, safety standards, and infection‑control protocols.
• Escalate situations requiring supervision and seek appropriate resources.

Required profile

• Demonstrated integrity and adherence to confidentiality standards.
• Ability to work independently on complex issues with minimal supervision.
• No current disciplinary actions as a PAR Level I.
• Proactive attitude toward additional tasks and process improvements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Familiarity with HCFA guidelines.
• Understanding of TennCare requirements.
• Experience with third‑party payer billing processes.
