Payments Support Specialist

About the role

Mountainstar Payments is seeking a Payments Support Specialist to join its Kenya‑based team. The role works closely with directors and US staff, providing extended‑hours coverage that helps deliver near‑24‑hour support for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with Cybersource setups, ongoing support, and reporting.
• Provide daily check‑ins and progress reports.
• Log in to banking and processor portals to pull bulk data, handle bank reporting, and organise regulatory compliance reports.
• Prepare and present daily findings and reports.
• Manage PCI compliance tasks through the designated portal.
• Review merchant and client risk parameters and report findings to the Director.
• Deliver after‑hours support aligned with US client needs.
• Provide on‑call coverage for select US holidays.

Required profile

• A degree or diploma (any field; business, finance or IT background a plus).
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Prior experience with payment processing, compliance or banking portals preferred.
• Availability to work Mountain Standard Time hours and rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Cybersource.
• Experience with bank and processor portals.
• Knowledge of PCI compliance processes.
• Ability to conduct risk reviews.
