Payroll Compliance Analyst

About the role

The Payroll Compliance Analyst will audit payroll operations and ensure statutory compliance across the Group. The role involves reconciling payroll data, managing statutory deductions and supporting internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular compliance tests to assess adherence to tax, regulatory, policy and process requirements across Group Payrolls.
• Perform monthly Payroll-to-GL reconciliations for Kenya businesses and oversee similar reconciliations for international businesses.
• Ensure statutory deductions are reconciled and remitted on time, and that retirement schemes are funded according to pension rules.
• Coordinate with IT and payroll system vendors to implement system and banking interface changes, ensuring proper testing and controls.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll data and preparing compliance reports for management.
• Maintain updated process maps, risk registers and submit monthly Ethics and Compliance self‑assessment reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; professional accounting, payroll or tax qualifications are a plus.
• At least four years of relevant experience, including payroll administration, compliance, taxation and statutory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, high ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality of employee data.
• Experience in stakeholder and relationship management with statutory authorities and system vendors.
