Payroll Officer – Fixed-Term (Hybrid)

About the role

The Payroll Officer will support delivery of accurate and compliant payroll operations across assigned countries, ensuring all payroll data is processed on time and to the highest standard of accuracy. This is a one‑year fixed‑term position based in Kenya, working in a hybrid model with three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and process payroll input data (new hires, exits, salary changes, allowances, deductions, benefits) in coordination with HR and Finance.
• Maintain payroll records in line with Information Governance and Records Management policies, ensuring audit readiness and GDPR/PDPA compliance.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations (tax, pension, social security) and follow payroll control checklists.
• Manage payroll‑related employee queries via case management systems (e.g., C4C) and collaborate with HR, Finance and Managed Service Providers to resolve issues.
• Contribute to SOP development, post‑payroll reviews and support process automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll administration or data processing within a shared‑services or multi‑country environment.
• Legal right to work in Kenya at the time of application; relocation or visa sponsorship is not provided.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and ability to handle confidential information under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems such as SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle.
• Experience using case management tools like C4C.
• Knowledge of payroll statutory deductions and compliance requirements.
• Ability to ensure data accuracy and maintain detailed records.
