Payroll Supervisor

About the role

Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is hiring a Payroll Supervisor to deliver a high-quality payroll service for Kenya and other payroll areas assigned. The role works with limited manager supervision, manages a remote team of junior payroll support staff and acts as the first point of contact for employee payroll and benefits queries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day payroll and benefits administration so that payments are timely and accurate
• Keep up to date with payroll legislation and explain changes to junior team members
• Communicate with third-party payroll and benefits providers so payments, reports and returns reach authorities and stakeholders on time
• Ensure payroll and benefits are processed in line with process control policies
• Build relationships with Finance, HR and other stakeholders
• Resolve employee payroll and benefits queries and recommend improvements to the process
• Maintain employee data on HR and leave/absence systems and support invoice sign-off and payment
• Administer employee benefits and calculate statutory payments and documents
• Assist in training new and existing employees and manage a remote team of junior payroll support staff

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in a payroll-focused environment
• Strong knowledge of Kenya payroll and benefits, with interest in expanding to other countries
• Ability to collaborate in a global, often remote team
• High accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritise independently

Required skills

• Solid Excel skills
• Word and PowerPoint knowledge is an advantage
• Workday experience is a plus
