People & Culture Intern – Knowledge Management

About the role
The People & Culture Intern will support the HR team in Nairobi by handling records, BambooHR administration, employee documentation, time‑off and performance management. This role offers practical experience with HR systems and processes while contributing to accurate employee information and streamlined People & Culture services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a standardized naming system for employee documents and keep staff profiles up to date in coordination with Country Operations Managers.
- Manage BambooHR settings, upload data, configure onboarding/off‑boarding workflows, and create user guides for administrators.
- Organise SharePoint/OneDrive folders, create a central People & Culture hub with templates, policies and resources.
- Support time‑off policy alignment, update employee time‑off settings in BambooHR and assist with performance‑management material preparation in English, French and Arabic.
- Set up automated reports and reminders for performance goals, reviews and other key HR deliverables.
- Provide general administrative assistance and participate in HR improvement projects.
Required profile
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field.
- Previous internship, volunteer or academic experience in HR or administration is an asset.
- Familiarity with HR information systems, employee records or document management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and basic data‑management tools.
Required skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Basic understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Willingness to learn BambooHR and other HR tools.
- Basic data management and reporting capabilities.
