Petroleum Environment Analyst – Entry Level

About the role

This entry‑level position supports the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum in monitoring and managing environmental, health and safety aspects of oil and gas activities across Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and compile environmental, health and safety data related to oil and gas operations.
• Update and maintain geospatial databases for environmental monitoring in petroleum areas.
• Participate in environmental, health and safety audits for petroleum activities.
• Assist in preparing reports on health, safety and environmental matters.
• Support public awareness initiatives on petroleum‑related environmental and safety issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology, Natural Resources Management, Climate Change, Occupational Health & Safety, Soil Water & Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, or Environmental Planning Management & Policy.
• Degree must be obtained from a university recognized in Kenya.

What we offer

• Basic salary scale Ksh 45,210 – Ksh 61,020 per month (CSG 10).
• House allowance of Ksh 16,500 per month.
• Commuter allowance of Ksh 5,000 per month.
